Evelyn Tweed has been sworn-in as Stirling’s next Member of the Scottish Parliament, as she undertook her affirmation within the Parliamentary chamber.
The affirmation is required for elected members to formally take part in chamber proceedings.
Evelyn Tweed MSP said:
‘It’s the honour of a lifetime to be elected to represent Stirling in our national Parliament. This first week has focused on orientation, and the nuts-and-bolts of parliamentary proceedings and operations. I’m ready to hit the ground running, and fight for the interests of my constituents as we emerge from the pandemic.
‘I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s been in touch so far with positive messages. I’m in the process of setting up my parliamentary office and recruiting staff, and will reply to emails and correspondence as soon as is possible.’
