Personal Bio

Born in Ayr in the West of Scotland, Evelyn was educated at the University of West Scotland (Paisley and Ayr), as well as Heriot Watt University / Edinburgh College of Art.

Evelyn has a professional background in housing, serving in several senior positions within housing associations before entering politics. She was a member of the Board of the Chartered Institute of Housing Scotland from 2007-2009. 

Evelyn is married to Ahsan and has two children.

In her leisure time, Evelyn enjoys spending time with her family, running and reading.

Political Bio

Evelyn was first elected as the Member of the Scottish Parliament for Stirling in May 2021, replacing Bruce Crawford after he announced his well-earned retirement. She won 48.6% of the vote, securing a majority of 6,895.

Prior to her election as MSP for Stirling, Evelyn was elected as a Stirling Councillor for the Trossachs and Teith ward in 2017. In her role, she has held the portfolio for Housing and been the Convenor of the Public Safety Committee as well as being on a number of committees.

Evelyn announced in February 2025 that she would stand down as the MSP for Stirling in the next Scottish Election in 2026, and her final day as the MSP for Stirling was April 8th, 2026.
