‘Creative Stirling’ is Jewel in King Street

Stirling MSP Evelyn Tweed has hailed community arts charity Creative Stirling as crucial to our city centre recovery, after a recent visit to their ‘Made in Stirling’ store on King Street.

The store acts as a community hub, workshop and art gallery, showcasing works from local artists and creatives. At the beginning of the pandemic, The Kitchen at 44 worked with Transition Stirling and Creative Stirling to utilise the ‘Made in Stirling’ store for a community food project. This specific food project now has its own identity as Stirling Community Food.

Organisations such as Creative Stirling will undoubtedly play a key role in developing a differentiated, experiences-based approach in the city centre to encourage visitors and boost foot traffic.

Evelyn Tweed MSP said:

‘The pandemic has accelerated economic and consumer trends on our high streets and in our city centre, so it’s vitally important unique and engaging businesses and organisations are given the support they need to grow and thrive.

‘Creative Stirling does so much for the community, and is a real jewel which attracts visitors from all over Scotland. I warmly welcome the support they’ve offered some of Stirling’s most vulnerable community members throughout the pandemic, and wish the charity well as it moves from strength to strength.’
