£10 million Fund to Support Local Economic Activity
Evelyn Tweed MSP has urged projects in Stirling to apply for the newly launched ‘Scotland Loves Local’ Fund.
The scheme has been launched by the SNP Scottish Government to support local projects run by organisations like town centre partnerships, chambers of commerce or community and charity trusts. It will provide projects with match funding of between £5,000 and £25,000.
Eligible projects could include things like community shops, marketing and digital schemes, or enabling the delivery of larger construction projects.
£2 million in grants will be available this financial year, with £10 million committed in the multi-year programme. Applications for the fund are open from Monday 9th August 2021 until Friday 1st October, 5pm

‘The Scotland Loves Local Fund has been launched by the SNP Scottish Government as a way to help high streets and city centres in places such as Stirling recover from the devastating impact of the pandemic.
‘Stirling has a number of fantastic local community projects to stimulate growth and footfall into the area and this funding will allow them to continue to make our spaces a more vibrant place, as well as stimulating the local economy.
‘Not only is this funding important, but when people shop locally and support local businesses it also boosts the local economy and ensures money spent in the local area stays in the local area.
‘I would urge local projects to apply for the ‘Scotland Loves Local’ Fund and encourage people in Stirling to continue to support local businesses at every opportunity.’
