NHS Staff at record levels with 10.7% increase in the last year
SNP MSP Evelyn Tweed has heralded the record health funding allocated to NHS Forth Valley for the coming year and has said it demonstrates how only the SNP can be trusted to protect Scotland’s NHS.
The local health board has been given a record budget of £598.1 million for 2022/23 to recover after the dreadful impact of the pandemic.
To help with that recovery, NHS Forth Valley also has record numbers of staff under the SNP, with a 574.5 Whole Time Equivalent staff increase – an increase of 10.7% compared to the previous year.
Commenting, SNP MSP Evelyn Tweed said: “We always appreciate the incredible hard work and dedication of our NHS staff but never more so than over the past two years. The SNP Scottish Government has recognised this with record funding for 2022/23 which will go a long way in ensuring that NHS Forth Valley is well on its way to recovery from the pandemic.
“In Scotland, we have the most well-funded NHS per person and the highest paid healthcare staff in the UK. The hard work and effort put in by our NHS staff deserves to be recognised which is why the Scottish Government is giving them the biggest pay rise in the history of devolution.
“The SNP have continued to show they can be trusted to protect our national health service. On May 5ththe people of Stirling will have the opportunity to send a strong message that the future of our health service is paramount and that the Tories cannot be trusted with our NHS.”
